160 Fans Experienced Surprise, Fear, and Fun

Dream Match™ Baseball was used at a PR event for NTT Docomo’s smartphone app, Mobile Giants for Sugotoku Contents. The event was held at the Tokyo Dome.
Just next to an official live professional baseball game, approximately 160 baseball fans attempted to catch Japan’s fastest high and straight fastball, at 165-km/h, making for a lively event.

VR Provides a New Professional Baseball Experience

Fans who see an intimidating fastball from the stands are likely to gasp at the awesome power and speed of such a pitch. But the VR experience provides even more. When fans become the catchers and catch such pitches themselves, most of them cry out, “Ugh!” or “Whoa!”
Through a VR-based experience of reality that cannot be had in the real world, the fans appeared to have enjoyed professional baseball from a new angle.
